    @sybok I added your line and so attached the log image
    @anti-apXos I thought there might be a problem with that print line for the reason you mentioned, but thought I would see if anything happened. The audio line was changed as you can see in my script image, but still no sound. The startup sound is still working fine using the old command though..

    antiX 26 Stephen Kapos 5.10.240-antiX.1-486-smp on a Pentium IV @ 2 Ghz and 2 GB of RAM. 2002 Gateway desktop. 140 GB hdd has "/" and 100 GB partition on 2nd drive has "/Home" using IceWM de. Dual booting with Ubuntu 10.04 LTS on another partition.
