By the way, for those who want to use a “newer” information reporting version, 3.3.40 is the latest inxi; 3.3.40-1 is the latest pinxi.

To get them for your own personal use, do this:
wget -O inxi smxi.org/inxi

If your distribution has blocked -U self updater and you want a newer version:

Open /etc/inxi.conf and change false to true: B_ALLOW_UPDATE=true
(then sudo inxi -U works). If you have your own private copy of inxi you can update it in your private space with just inxi -U.

wget -O pinxi smxi.org/pinxi

pinxi -U updates the development version when updates are available.

pinxi -U –man also installs the man page from pinxi, which is the development
branch for the master man page.
