Sorry, but here I have to object. This war is driven by a fascist conceptual framework, wich abuses ‘Mother Russia’ («матушка Рус») and the Russian people’s natural love for their homeland as a pretext to talk people into (and persuade them to wage) war against their neighbours in order to satisfy an autocratic leader’s delusions of grandeur, whilst in doing so denying historical developments and attempting to turn back the clock. Money is just a means to an end here. Fascism always has squeezed out the mass like a lemon. For a fascist regime that necessarily derives its legitimacy from the establishment of a permanent state of crisis and war – as I am currently observing in Russia – the exploitation of the population at every level (financially, economically, in terms of labour, human resources, cannon fodder, etc.) is a crucial and indispensable structural prerequisite for maintaining its own power. The sad thing is, majority of people won’t even notice they and their strong love of their homeland are misused for that. Fear and thirst for revenge is raised by populist indoctrination, fear in particular of Germany, linking our historic criminal regime of NS era with current Germany, and extended to the EU. I have observed Russian television (Russian national domestic state TV, not the international state self promotion stations) in original, and I know perfectly what was explicitly and implicitly transported and pictured there for years, to prepare the current war, making the population by and by toeing the line. A perfect example of fascist brainwashing. In conjunction with censored public media these are the ingredients all dictators have applied to gain and maintain power. And yes, I observe the first steps towards openly celebrated fascism in the US and other countries as well, but in this thread we are not talking about the US.
Btw, I notice your problem: You can’t give proof without putting yourself in danger that you are not a Russian state troll, up to subliminally manipulate the public opinion in the countries which have been drawn into the conflict. Time will tell us, what you are up to. So please forgive me for not embracing spontaneously (which is what I’d have done in pre-Putin era and will do in a post-Putin era again), but if you happen not to be a troll, a warm welcome here in the friendly place of antiXia: We feel your trouble.
