Teleirc, in essence, is a bridge connecting traditional IRC with modern IM (Telegram). My idea is to set up a unified Telegram bridged group—strictly voluntary, of course—so people can gather there while staying fully synced with the main IRC channel in both directions.
The core benefits of joining this bridged group are:
Persistent History & Context: It completely solves the issue of losing chat history due to IRC disconnections. Telegram retains the logs, allowing newcomers or returning users to catch up instantly without dealing with a complex Bouncer (ZNC) setup.
Seamless Multi-language Chat: With Telegram’s native, built-in translation features, non-native English speakers can participate easily, significantly lowering the barrier to community contribution.
Modern IM Conveniences: It offers asymmetric encryption for security, reliable push notifications, and a much smoother mobile experience.
This setup respects everyone’s habits: IRC purists can stay exactly where they are, while those who prefer a modern interface can join the Telegram group. It’s a win-win, backward-compatible solution.
