@olsztyn Do you still have a Live image handy? Check out dinit from the original release image and see how it works.
I’ll do the same later and make sure I get the same results as I’ve been experiencing in my installed configuration.
I’m back with the March 2026 antiX 26 Full Install ISO image, and I selected the Modern Kernel and the dinit setting and I’m successfully logged in.
While I’m NOT going to permanently alter this install image (I have another snapshot live image that I’ve altered), I did go into the Control Center —> Services —> Choose Dinit Startup Services. It’s there. Then I went into the startup services and removed a few tty entries.
Of course in this instance these changes will NOT be retained; in my installed instance, I’ve made this change permanent.
Anyway, Dinit is working from the live image; I hope you get there to try it; this is becoming my new favorite, though for a while runit remains my default, PLUS I still have an outstanding antiX 23.2 Full Runit instance, which remains my most complete, lightweight stable configuration, though I’m getting there at last with antiX 26 too.
