Based on TWO personal experiences, plus two of yours, I claim that the foundation upon which you’re further customizing is somehow flawed.
Yes. Any customization requires appropriate change control, keeping intermediate versions on external hard disks, so in case of discovering an issue one caan always fall back to one of previous versions where such issue is not yet there. This is what I am doing, but as I was focusing primarily on runit at that time, this issue with dinit was not in the focus.
It is just recently that dinit came into focus, mostly after learning more about these inits, so the new focus of my testing will be dinit, so incremental changes with version control is the standard modus operandi in my computer room. Just time becomes in short supply these days, ahead of my trip to Europe for several months…
