    I am working on redoing my instance of dinit antiX, going back all the way to basics.
    So at this point it does not have consolekit, just as the antiX 26 image as published. It is now back to slimski login manager instead of lightdm, to minimize changes from the prostine antiX baseline. The only difference now is LXQT/Openbox option added as another WM. Without consolekit the native LXQT shutdown/restart will not work so I will use desktop-session-exit button, basically re-instating your original ‘off buttons’.

    From this point I would like to try enabling the dinit backend, so turnstile will control the user session. Could you please provide some guidance how to do it?
