I thought a bit more about turnstiled after reading another thread here, and couldn’t really identify what the target “audience” is for it; people who like the approach (& complexity) of systemd, but don’t want systemd itself, seems like a bit of a niche to me 😉
There should always be a choice. Turnstile + Seatd allows you to replace Elogind and this combination works with Dinit, Runit, OpenRC. For modern trends, this is valuable. For systems with Polkit, it is needed, for XFCE.
