    I have done the same. Thunar and the entire gvfs kaboodle is the first thing I move aside and use SpaceFM (zzzFM is a modified SpaceFM). For unplugging removable devices (USB sticks and external hard drives) there is also an excellent antiX native utility ‘unplugdrive.sh’. Recently with antiX 26 it seems to work even better than in the past as it seems to power down external disks every time. Perhaps the underlying infrastructure has improved…
