We are using 6.1.xxx,
Why don’t we use 6.18 or 7.x?
I don’t know who you mean by “we” here, nor what version of antix “we” are using, but there’s both 6.1 and 6.6 series kernels available in the antix-23 repos and antix-26 comes with 6.6 as the modern kernel.
If you want something even newer, you can get them from the Debian backports or liquorix repos, either of which can just be enabled with a checkbox in the repo manager if you don’t already have them enabled.
I guess anticapitalista should be the one to speak about why newer kernels aren’t in the antix repos, but I’ve just assumed it’s a matter of more or less following the stable philosophy, similar to Debian itself. Probably also just easier to build them that way.
