Many thanks @Fehlix, this is what I also found on my system. My question was, whether this is actually what must be installed on antiX, since the package reads explicitly -mx, I simply didn’t dare to try and error, because I had to do it on my productive system, and lack of time for figuring out. I thought there could possibly an -antix package version for this tool be still in the pipeline.
Btw, many thanks for the update, the updated kernel updater worked like a charm here.
uc-tool-mx is already in antiX bookworm, trixie, testing and sid repos
Thanks @anticapitalista, I didn’t state anything different. Just wanted to make sure that this is the proper package, since it didn’t read -antix nor was it without explicit branding. But now from your words I take implicitly, that antiX uses the -mx package, and no antix specific packaging is needed nor awaiting to be released, possibly delayed due to lack of time. I’ll install the -mx package then now.
Additionally, I asked whether this shouldn’t be rather a dependency then of the live-kernel-updater package, whose dependencies currently read:
Depends: cli-shell-utils, iso-template-antix, file, sbsigntool
Adding it would resolve the question on the non matching package naming for people in one go easily, I guess, along with the advantage the missing tool is being installed automatically then on next package update so not every user needs to research on his own and wonder whether the -mx package is the proper one for his antiX system.
