https://github.com/joshuablais/studium-emacs/ is this guy’s early attempt to replace Doom Emacs with something that takes some ideas of Doom Emacs without utilizing the Evil mode; basically he’s just trying to create different key bindings.
I did that in the past with GNU Emacs, simply by binding some function keys to specific functions. What I did NOT do was apply those to every single feature or mode of Emacs (for one thing there’s a LOT that I rarely if ever use) and the other thing is that I was using GNU Emacs with workstations or terminals that had the extended VT200 or VT300 series keyboards; I don’t have that with my current generation of laptops, so maybe this guy’s ideas have some merit; I may look into it, but not right now; these couple of posts will remind me of this work, and also provide the information for anyone else curious enough to try it out.
