One thing I’m struggling with recently on antiX 26 are Web Browsers. Both Firefox (both the ESR and released version) and Librewolf are getting hung and I don’t know if they depend on anything I’ve cut out, but Palemoon and Ungoogled Chromium work, so I’m using them on 26 and going to other versions when I want to use Firefox or Librewolf. My antiX 23.2 and MX Linux setups work fine, so for now when I want to use another browser I’ll visit them or stick with ung (Ungoogled Chromium) or Palemoon here.
I went to my recent snapshot on Flash Drive and it did the same thing, so I went back to a plain antiX 26 Flash Drive and it didn’t have the problem; that’ll help; worst case I start over; on the other hand I can use Ungoogled Chromium as I’ve been doing and go elsewhere (antiX 23.2 Full Runit) to view media content until I’m in the mood to rebuild this once again!
I reinstalled my system and got this fixed. I haven’t honed down the memory utilization, but I may not rush into that; I’d rather be able to use this system without restrictions, such as audio and video sound not working properly; it’s back the way it was and most things are installed that I want; that’s plenty good enough!
