That pie chart is surely the worst possible summary of results from tests like this, especially since in several cases the difference between first and second place is even within the standard error of their tests. To be honest, Cachy performed better than plain arch in some of these tests than I would have expected, though really I have no idea what any of the benchmarks actually mean.
It’s just a matter of perception. CachyOS was supposed to carry the torch once Intel retired its Clear Linux distro, and Clear Linux used to blow other distros out of the water in the Phoronix head-to-head-to-head benchmarking competitions. To see CachyOS, with all its optimizations, struggling against Ubuntu, vanilla Arch and PopOS, which Clear Linux used to routinely dominate, is an eye opener for me.
