you should never copy/paste from a webpage (or other richtext document) to terminal commandline.
There’s no guarantee that “what you see, in browser, will be the actual characters pasted.

antixforum is using WordPress as a platform for the forum. It MANGLES certain characters.
In this case, it converted two adjacent “minus minus” characters into a “dash” character.
