make sure there is no softblock
sudo rfkill unblock all
then, launch ceni and try to connect to ethernet with it.

After that you should see in /etc/network/interfaces:

# interfaces(5) file used by ifup(8) and ifdown(8)
# Used by ceni but not by connman

auto lo
iface lo inet loopback

If you need to edit the file, you need root privileges
sudo leafpad /etc/network/interfaces
