Should be able to edit ~/.desktop-session/desktop-session.conf.
Change:
STARTUP_SOUND=false –> STARTUP_SOUND=true
STARTUP_SOUND_FILE=”$HOME/.desktop-session/startup.ogg” –> STARTUP_SOUND_FILE=”PATH_TO_YOUR_STARTUP_SOUND_FILE”
Save and your sound should play on the next login. (That is if the “play” command supports the file type)

It was made by the music making forum member Eino a number of years back.
Hopeful this clip (or another of his) could be included as default sometime. He has made a number of them, kind of wish I had downloaded more.
