Hi, 52midnight – it’s off topic, but let me try to step in once more and try to clear things up:
– the antiX community is the best computer related forum I ever saw- people here are usually nice, and try to help each other out- we even write scripts or produce full blown programs to help each other out… we try to help both the complete newbies with basic questions and the more tech savvy folks with truly esoteric problems… But we really are humans, and sometimes get frustrated when folks don’t provide all the info we need to help them… Probably Moddit got frustrated because, the usual etiquette here in the forum is to provide a short description of the problem, of the steps followed to try to fix the problem and the description of the machine that’s experiencing the problem… That’s also the fastest way to get help…
Next time you need help, please try something like:
” Hi, I’m new to antiX and I’m using antiX 19.4, with the LXDE desktop and my default file manager is PCMANFM. How do I access my android 9 phone contents via a USB cable using my file manager? I plug it in and nothing happens! Please help!”
Very probably the first answer would have been something like:
“Hi, welcome to antiX- open the terminal and enter this command: /usr/local/bin/android-device-usb-connect.sh ” follow the steps shown in the window that pops up and your device contents will be displayed in your default browser”
You don’t have to be geeky to be welcome here, but if you are “geeky” enough to do something like changing the desktop manager to a non default one (something that probably the majority of computer users can’t do by themselves), please do us the courtesy of pointing out that you are not using a standard system- because stuff can work differently on a non standard system, and people will waste time trying to help you out without having the necessary data to do so.
Stick around, a bit more, and you’ll probably notice this forum is a great place to be- I’ve missed it this last couple of months…
