I have an update on the programs that wouldn’t work after the update. I tried to purge VLC as suggested, and was told it wasn’t installed. When I tried to install it through Synaptic (the box to check was empty), it led me to believe there were dependencies that weren’t satisfied. So I think if I just wait, the problem will resolve itself.
On the KOrganizer issue, I Googled the error message that I received. Apparently it is fairly common. I was advised on several sites to basically delete the user data files. When I did that, I lost all of my calendar entries, but the program now opens properly and I have reentered my calendar entries.
BTW, I would love to use Google Calendar, but the internet is erratic at best out here. Not many Amish use the Internet, so there is not much of a demand for high speed. lol
If the updating error message I received regrading heldback packages is an issue, please let me know and what you would do to correct it. I would be grateful. Thank you!
