Alrighty! I got some updates, some bad news and some good news.
Bad news: I couldnt manage to make the DLink pcmcia wifi card to work at all.
Good news: The conceptronic c300rc pcmcia wifi card just arrived. It is working nicely so far. sudo apt update worked, dillo works, it is currently upgrading.
I believe the old card could not connect to a wpa2 network. Now this new one came sealed with 3 year warranty, 802.11n fully compatible and wps (which idk what that means but I bet the old card doesnt have that). Really nice speeds too, Antix being so lightweight leaves room for browsing AND I could even watch some youtube videos. Yes in 360p but no frame loss nor bad audio. It was plug&play instantly recognised. Now I have a fully operational system 🙂
