Ok now I can see the problem and verify that the logic in the script is working correctly. From what I can see testing here the fix of copying the line to replace the missing icon only works for icewm as icewm is capable of finding icons itself. This does not fix it for the other window managers correct? Also from my testing in icewm, icewm searches /usr/share/icons/ and picks the first instance of the icon matching the text from the menu file for the specified icon. This does not actually follow the icon theme selected. Now we can probably make desktop-menu mimic what icewm does, but perhaps it is better to address / fix the icon themes?
