I agree with anticapitalista’s comment (except for that bit about his quitting).
Like another forum member states in his signature like – “Accept antiX as it is.” (I’m probably paraphrasing, but that sums it up.)
Suggestions are fine, on things to change or adopt. But I don’t think the point is to go on the offensive to attract new users.
I personally always tweak settings, and the adventure of learning something new & making it my own is a huge part of why I like Linux in general. Everyone prefers different styles.
So make suggestions in a constructive manner, and enjoy your own antiX with as many tweaks and changes as you like. anticapitalista will do as he likes on the official distro releases (as he should). Many forum member contributions have been incorporated over the years, so you never know…
I agree @christophe, the solution to these matters is quite simple:
alter what you don’t like.
I have always greatly enjoyed antiX; nevertheless, one of the first things I do each time there is a build, a release, or any other image I want to try out, I install it, then very shortly thereafter, put my own appearance spins on it; I happen to enjoy the Cumberland Falls images, but in recent years, I located some even nicer images with “Moonbow” backgrounds near the Falls, a hallmark of this particular waterfall near Corbin, Kentucky, USA. Along with my favorite images, I bring in my own shell script aliases and my own directories of personal tools; then I add in the browsers and editors I prefer.
I never push them on anyone else and I only refer to them when a wallpaper thread or a complaint thread appear.
My solution is to change things to the way you like them, and for those unwilling to do that, they are in the wrong place and it may be time to go elsewhere. As for the faithful here, we love the lean, efficient way antiX works and the excellent tools that come with it which make it very easy to make those customizations.
This isn’t for you because you know all about the flexibility of creating your own custom antiX Core image!
For me, I DO like what our systems come with; still, I further modify them to suit my personal taste and interest; the wise among us will do likewise.
