If you want to use ‘pavucontrol’ (originally for now superseeded pulseaudio) with ‘pipewire’, an additional package ‘pipewire-pulse’ should be installed.
sudo apt install pipewire pavucontrol pipewire-pulse
should install them all (‘sudo’ = run the command following it with elevated privileges, it requires password confirmation unless you’ve entered the password recently), if not already installed.
