Yes, this is off topic, and just because I’ve been well protected from my small matters doesn’t mean that there isn’t good and bad here, and in every corner of the earth for that matter.
When it pertains to the current leadership of my country, I don’t understand why so many people voted for that person again. I certainly did not and that individual gives a very poor representation of what many fine people represent. For instance, when I spoke of local and federal officials, I spoke about the ones that do sincerely care and I was referring mostly to those who aide others, particularly senior citizens when it comes to matters such as financial fraud. The local officers and the credit union management were the primary people I was able to witness first hand, but it wasn’t the first time I’ve seen their helpful behavior; I also witness it in our communities.
It is the extremely wealthy people (and not all of them either) that grab power and seek more, regardless of the impact it has on the people around them. There are some, however, who live comparatively ordinary lives and use their earnings to fund major humanitarian efforts – those individuals are not very common because power and greed has overtaken what may have at one time been a desire to be kind, caring, and sharing toward other people.
Back to the browsers, Ungoogled Chromium just had another release update and it’s very good, as usual. Quick seat of the pants observation is that it’s still the quickest out of all of the full-featured Web Browsers out there, but the “lipstick” Helium is reasonably close and it’s slightly easier to obtain, configure and run. The point for me is that just because something is produced and made available from the USA does not deter me from using it. I also have nothing to hide, so there’s no worry about what might be potentially captured. As long as the cache and configuration are lean and secure, I’m not concerned about telemetry and what might be evaluated about browsing habits.
