Yeah, dinit and runit are pretty close in their footprint. I took out a few standard things that I don’t use with either of them, for instance (and I have mentioned this before), I remove several tty entries, leaving only two, and I also get rid of cups when it allows because I don’t use printing. I think I also got rid of ssl; again, I generally don’t use it any more, whereas all of these were things that I DID use back when I was an active developer. I know how to bring them back, and in the event bringing them back fails, I have a backup – the original Flash drive containing the distribution, so I have the option to reinstall if I mess things up badly or I can go back to an earlier snapshot; I have a couple of those too; anyway these are some personal hacks to my system that I make to make it more efficient for my current limited use cases, another reason why I use antiX – I just don’t need the stuff in a full desktop setup, but I do have a few of them too (just in case) 🙂
