      Caprea I presently I have only one problem left and that is my monitor settings and desktop keep reverting to default.

        Assuming you like to change your screen-resolution permanently, there is a How To.

          G’day Caprea,
          Thank you for the information I have followed the step set out 2) Right click on the [LVDS-1] box -> on my system there is 3 monitor so I set all 3 to required Resolution .
          3. Layout -> Saved As screen_resolution but cannot see a reference to /usr/local/bin).
          4. Selected the menu Layout and choose Apply and closed arandr
          5. Opened the root terminal and typed chmod 755 /usr/local/bin/screen_resolution.sh and get this response: Shane@shanesantix1:~$ chmod 755 /usr/local/bin/screen_resolution.sh
          chmod: cannot access ‘/usr/local/bin/screen_resolution.sh’: No such file or directory
