The other day I looked on github to see if TDE was being developed… I’ll have to look.
In the meantime, I replaced Moksha with E27 – it is more modern and more interesting. Moksha has no prospects – there is no development there.

I tried it. Unfortunately, there are a lot of bugs, a lot of unnecessary software and wallpaper. Loses to LXQT, XFCE and E27. Failed to set up stable operation.

I’m testing this E27 version.First remark , the boot is very fast and it is very light on ram : about 510MB at start up.Enlightenment is not a bad desktop environment.
I’m continuing the test.

If you like this one, you should check the super light LXQT version @Valera built from antiX 26.
The most impressive and clean, though not necessarily the leanest, was his MXD-SonicDE-20260810.iso;
It’s about the leanest KDE-based setup that’s reasonably recent and it’s very good; I did not have
any problems with it at all. Though it’s not the Trinity Desktop Environment (TDE), I’d argue
that the SonicDE that @Valera created from a cut down MX Linux configuration is much better;
this particular build gets top kudos; I’m also hoping we may see a refresh on the LXQT version;
meanwhile I customized my own personal instance of it; both are REALLY good.

I’ve tested the SonicDE and LXQt versions too.With the E27 version i’ve seen 475MB of ram at strart up with some tweaks !!

Thank you Brian and Amol! I would also recommend LXQT or SonicDE. E27 – there are problems, not everything works as we would like. It’s difficult to configure anything.

Rebuilt Enlightenment. Disabled wayland, tiling, systemd. Added to the code a function for hiding the panel when the window is expanded to full screen mode, it works based on the position of the cursor on the screen. If the panel is not hidden, you need to click on the window or panel)) We managed to fix full-screen windows flying off the screen (this was hard). Browsers in full screen mode now remain within the window boundaries. The ISO size has increased due to dependencies for the Enlightenment build. In general, you can use it.

Congratulations on yet another creative success! While I’m not very interested in this one myself, others may truly enjoy it! The MXD and the antiX LXQt are more my “size”!

Thank you, Brian! Enlightenment developers use it as a testing ground for testing various functions for commercial orders and they are not interested in dealing with the stability of this DE. There is nothing left to do but make forks from this workpiece and fix something yourself. This is what they do in Bodhi and Elive. I corrected what annoyed me .

Way back in time when Enlightenment seemed “stuck” at Version 0.16, then eventually 0.17 I had many opportunities to try it out. For some reason it never scratched an urge or itch for me, but I gave it many tries long ago.

I know it’s not “exciting technology” for everyone, but I always liked the simplicity of IceWM, even twenty + years ago and I still like it today. I also say this often: we have numerous different choices for different people; I’m NEVER against the choices – the FREE choices, the diversity of systems and even the proprietary alternatives. I’m not into the proprietary stuff myself, yet that’s a choice and proprietary stuff employs plenty of people and millions of customers!

Each offers ALTERNATIVES!
