– – Where is Remaster (this is a critical function)? I could not find it among MX tools, where in MX is expected. I was able to start it from terminal using ‘live-remaster’ but considering it is one most important function, it should be in a visible place.

If it was just Synaptic then it would not be much of a problem, but almost any gui function which requires authentication, such authentication fails.
These problems arise because antiX does not use pkexec and some applications from the antiX repository are required to use ‘su-to-root -X -c’, so if you install anything from the antiX repository, change the run commands.

Turnstile is needed for Dinit to work properly. For other initialization systems, it is probably not needed. My build aims to make Dinit work fully without Elogind.

Please understand I am not a developer but just a user. I do like dinit and also would like it to work well in this respin. I have nothing against turnstile and as I said I have it installed in my antiX 26 variant. But I have also consolekit installed, so I think I do not understand where the conflict is since all seems working fine for me.
As I am still learning your respin, I have some more questions if you do not mind:
– How do I access Dinit service manager?
– Connman seems running, just like default antiX, but I do not see CMST to start network connection. How to connect?
– Firmware collection in /lib is just like in MX ahs, which is expected since the setup in your respin is based on MX advanced hardware support (ahs). This is I think preferred, since the size of /lib/firmware is just over 800M, while in default antiX 26 is 1.2Gb, while yours and MX firmware contains significantly more firware files than in default antiX. This is an advantage I think as more hardware would be supported. Am I correct in my thinking here?
If so, I am thinking of replacing my default /lib/firmware in my antiX 26 with yours/MX to support more hardware too, if it is not going to create a problem.

I do have problem on antiX, when starting Dinit it stops booting with a blinking cursor in top left of the screen, just before login because it is not starting lightdm service properly. I work around this issue by logging in to VT2 and startx. I remember @ProwlerGr had initially the same issue but he fixed it in his install of antiX in Virtualbox.
However others are reporting no issues with antiX using Dinit with slimski login manager. When I get the time I will switch to slimski and see if it works on antiX.
Your respin is the first time I see dinit booting all the way on my hardware.System- Dinit Dialogbox Manager , I fixed its launch.

Thank you for your work and for adding dinit to antiX. I set up Dinit user services to work through Turnstile. The default Turnstile settings for the dinit backend are designed to work on Chimera Linux.

I just downloaded the new MXD ISO and I see Remaster is there now, along other improvements. I will play fresh with it now but I must say at this point this is more and more impressive! Seems perfectly usable now…
Looks like I will start now an additional image of antiX to work with – MXD.
I will surely change some stuff, such as desktop, but the base infrastructure being MXD is the first Dinit implementation that works on my laptops all the way to the desktop, so it is a breakthrough for my hardware…

Just another request, if you do not mind:
The Dinit service manager dialog box seems to show services that are up apparently but the startup status shows as ‘starting’ instead of ‘up’.
Also no tick showing next to each service.
On antiX 26, I am logged in now through Dinit (through the startx workaround on VT2 I mentioned before, since my antiX 26 Dinit is not booting all the way to the desktop) the Dinit service manager shows status of services correctly as ‘up’ and there is a tick on the left to each dinit service.
Can this be updated on MXD too, please?
