older antiX ISO files: are the old software updates still available?

On one of my older less powerful netbooks (with a single-core Intel Atom processor), I may need to go back and reinstall an older version of antiX, probably version 19 to get it up and running again as later versions of antiX don’t run so smoothly. Even if the ISO file is still available for antiX-19, are the software updates still available to fully update it up until the time of its end-of-life?

Yes, they are. Please follow the instructions found in the thread about antiX 17, and apply them analogously to your antiX 19, you’ll have to look up the respective links for the proper debian- and antiX-archives. But you shouldn’t do that, if your PC is connected to the internet. The warning is still valid, and also for antiX 19: These archives don’t get any security updates, since neither the debian- nor the antiX versions are supported any longer.

Windows is like a submarine. Open a window and serious problems will start.

Thanks Robin. Yes agreed, antiX-19, or earlier versions, wont be connected to the internet for the reason you give. On my setup, /dev/sda1 has antiX-26 installed, which is connected to the internet, and which will download the videos. However, antiX-26 doesn’t play these videos very well, but antiX-19 does. I will install antiX-19 on /dev/sda2, and use it to access and play the videos downloaded by antiX-26 on /dev/sda1. In your opinion, is that setup relatively safe?
