      skidoo, I added apt-xapian-index on 19b2 but the quick search still doesn’t appear. Do I need to do something to initialize it? I exited synaptic and went back in, but the quick search window doesn’t appear.

        aha! I ran sudo apt-get update, and went in again afterwards, and now its there…
