There is an abundance of the name Antix and AntiX here, BOTH of which are disrespectful of our distribution —
antiX, NOT something else, and our founder has repeatedly said so, and even explained WHY- there are other entities with that name.Please correct this. UPDATE: I corrected a few of them, but after a dozen or so updates I had enough. If you post anything else in this thread, put in antiX; otherwise we’ll know that the disrespect is intentional.
Greetings, I sincerely apologize. It was absolutely not intentional. I didn’t know it was written with a capital X and that there was a sensitivity regarding this. Thank you for pointing it out. From now on, I will write it as AntiX, rest assured. I apologize if I upset you, but it was definitely not intentional, you can be sure of that. You can understand that from what I wrote anyway. You got it wrong: it is antiX, not AntiX!
Look on our Website and on any announcements from @anticapitalista, it NEVER ever shows anything other than antiX; the only time you see any other capitalization that may differ would be in some config file or directory name; any written correspondence ALWAYS writes this antiX. Please respect this.
The letter ‘a’ was understood as ‘antiX’, I will definitely pay attention and write it that way. The reason I write the ‘A’ in uppercase is because, for example, the first letter of a name, brand, or company name is capitalized, and that’s why I capitalize the first letter. Actually, it’s something I do out of respect for the name given to the brand. For example, I capitalize the first letters of other similar things as well. I understand, grammatically, why you did it, but I also understand why @anticapitalista did it OPPOSITE of common convention:
1) There are other groups or organizations that use forms of AntiX or AntiX and he didn’t want any conflict with any of them.
2) We are polar opposite of most distributions so we want to be different in many ways.
He’s explained this many times. I’ll forgive you as long as you do your very best not to continually repeat this; you’ll notice that it’s only relative newcomers that get this wrong, all veteran users already know the preferences of our distribution.
